Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Intro Hero ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to all users of the Service.

2. Description of Service

Intro Hero is an online directory platform for UK businesses. We provide:

• Business listing and directory services for businesses operating in the United Kingdom
• Customer enquiry and contact facilitation
• A genuine, user-submitted rating and review system for listed businesses
• Information and resources about local businesses

3. UK Business Eligibility

Intro Hero is a UK-only directory. To submit a listing, you must confirm that the business is registered and/or actively operating in the United Kingdom. We rely on self-certification at the point of submission, and we reserve the right to request evidence of UK operation, reject, or remove any listing that does not meet this requirement, with a refund of any fee paid where the listing was never published as a result (see Section 6).

4. User Accounts and Registration

Accounts are created and accessed using a passwordless "magic link" sent to your email address — we do not ask for or store a password. Keep access to your email account secure, as anyone with access to it can sign in as you.

Business Listings

To submit a business listing, you must:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Have the authority to represent the business
• Maintain up-to-date contact information
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including UK consumer protection and advertising standards

General Users

All users must:

• Use the Service lawfully and respectfully
• Not interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
• Respect the intellectual property rights of others
• Not engage in spam or abusive behaviour

5. Content, Listings, and Reviews

Business Information

When submitting business information, you represent that:

• All information is accurate and truthful
• You have the right to use any images or content provided
• The business is legitimately operating in the UK
• Contact information is current and functional

Ratings and Reviews

Registered users may leave a star rating and, optionally, a written review of a listed business. By submitting a rating or review, you confirm that:

• It reflects a genuine experience with the business
• It is not defamatory, fraudulent, or submitted on behalf of a competitor
• You will not attempt to manipulate a business's rating through repeated, fake, or automated submissions

Submissions are protected against automated abuse using Cloudflare Turnstile (see our Privacy Policy). We may remove any rating or review that breaches these Terms, and may suspend accounts used to submit fraudulent ratings.

Content Standards

All content must:

• Be factual and not misleading
• Comply with applicable laws
• Not contain offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate material
• Not infringe on intellectual property rights
• Not contain spam or promotional content unrelated to the business

6. Fees and Payment

Submitting a business listing carries a one-off fee; an optional "featured" upgrade is available for an additional one-off fee. Current prices are shown on our Pricing page. These are one-time charges — Intro Hero will not take repeat or recurring payments from you without a new, separate checkout, other than the lead capture forms add-on described below, which is the one subscription we operate.

How Payment Works

Listing and featured-upgrade payments are processed by GoCardless using Instant Bank Pay, a single-use UK bank-to-bank transfer (Faster Payments). You authorise each payment directly with your own bank via GoCardless's payment flow. Intro Hero does not receive, process, or store your bank account details or card details — these are handled entirely by GoCardless, a UK-regulated payment institution.

Refunds

If your listing is rejected — for example because it does not meet our UK-eligibility or content standards — we will refund the associated fee in full. Where the fee entitled you to a "listing credit" that has not yet been used to submit a listing, you may request a refund of that credit at any time by contacting us. Once a listing has been reviewed, approved, and published at your request, the fee is non-refundable, except where required by law. If you are a consumer, you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013; by asking us to publish your listing before that period ends, you acknowledge that this right no longer applies once the service has been fully performed.

Lead Capture Forms Subscription

Lead capture forms — a custom enquiry form you can add to your own listing — are an optional add-on billed at £5.00 per month, per listing, for as long as you keep it active. Unlike the one-off listing fee, this is a recurring subscription: collected monthly by Direct Debit (UK Bacs scheme) via GoCardless against a mandate you set up when you subscribe. Because this uses Direct Debit rather than Instant Bank Pay, each collection is covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee, and the first collection may take a few working days to be set up after you subscribe rather than completing instantly.

You may cancel this subscription at any time from your listing's management page; cancelling stops future monthly charges and disables the form on your listing, but does not refund any month already collected. If a monthly payment fails, we may suspend the form on your listing until payment succeeds or you cancel.

Admin-Published Listings

Listings published directly by Intro Hero administrators, and lead capture forms on those listings, are not subject to the fees described in this section.

7. Prohibited Uses

You may not use our Service:

• For any unlawful purpose or to solicit unlawful acts
• To violate any applicable UK or international regulations or laws
• To transmit or procure sending of advertising or promotional material
• To impersonate another person or entity
• To upload viruses or malicious code
• To collect personal information without consent
• To engage in automated data collection without permission
• To submit fake, manipulated, or automated ratings or reviews

8. Intellectual Property Rights

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Intro Hero and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

User Content Licence

By submitting content to our Service (including listing content, images, and ratings/reviews), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with the Service.

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of the Service.

10. Disclaimers

The information on this Service is provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude:

• All representations, warranties, and conditions relating to this Service
• All liability for damages arising out of or in connection with your use of this Service

Business Listings Disclaimer

We do not:

• Verify the accuracy of business information beyond self-certified UK eligibility
• Endorse or recommend any particular business
• Guarantee the quality of services provided by listed businesses
• Take responsibility for transactions between users and businesses

Ratings Disclaimer

Ratings and reviews reflect the opinions of individual users, not Intro Hero. We do not independently verify the substance of any review, although we do require it to come from a registered account and to pass automated bot-protection checks.

11. Limitation of Liability

In no case shall Intro Hero, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the Service. This does not affect our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under UK law.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of fees already paid for services already performed (see Section 6).

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
